Shoeboxes for Shelters

We are donating the shoeboxes to the Inter Parish Ministry (http://www.interparish.org) as a service project this holiday season.

Please bring a wrapped shoebox(es) to the December Pack Meeting – the lid and bottom must be wrapped separately so the lid can be lifted off easily and we can pack them full of needed items.

Below is a list of items needed – please choose a few to bring to the Pack Meeting (the Dollar Store is a great place to load up on all of these!)  We will fill them together and will be distributed accordingly to men, women and children (young and teens) by the Inter Parish Ministry. Remember to let the scouts earn the money to buy the items for the shelters. This way they learn about giving of themselves and not just of their parents!

September Scoutlook

I hope you all have enjoyed your summer and have a fun and relaxing Labor Day weekend! Our first pack meeting of the school year will be Friday at 7pm at CubWorld in Loveland. We will have smores after the campfire. We will also learn more about our popcorn sale this year. This is Teresa’s last year in the pack so if you want to help “make the pack go” in this way please let us know. We would love for you to be trained before Teresa is gone!

In case of rain we will still meet there we will just be in the shelter up the hill instead.

For you new parents we will be having orientation at Sycamore park in Batavia. We will have their rank handbooks and we’ll have some boy scouts help them earn their bobcat rank. We will go over pack items including youth protection. Please look over our website and if you have any questions ask them at our orientation! Pack464.wordpress.com

On September 20 we will be attending New Richmond’s Bicentennial Celebration. We will be watching team plunk pumpkins into the Ohio river! Tell me that doesn’t sound like fun.

Check our calendar of events link on the right for more upcoming fun!

Camp-out Canceled

I can’t believe I’m cancelling the Camp-out this weekend when I look out my window and see such beautiful sky’s but I am. This weekend’s camp-out will be canceled. I will try to find a day when we can do the activities that fits in our schedule but I can’t promise anything. Remember dens, you can’t camp as a den until your Webelos but you can do family camping. Maybe you can get together as families to camp. Let me know if you need any equipment if you do decide to camp. The pack has stuff you can borrow like a camp kitchen box with a gas stove and some utensils and a pot and pan or two. The pack water cooler. A hand washing station. And Mike & I have an extra 6-man tent we would lend to you too!

Campout May 9-10 and May Scoutlook

Ok so we checked the forecast and it’s calling for thunderstorms on Friday night. If it doesn’t change by Wednesday we will be canceling the campout. Unfortunately our schedule doesn’t allow us to reschedule it this summer but we might try and to do a “day camp” and still have the activities we planned.

Now for the rest of the summer. Den leaders please let me know if you change any meetings. Parents please be sure to check with your den leaders for meeting changes! Thanks to you all!

April Scoutlook

Hey Y’all

Can you feel it? Spring I mean! Yeah, neither can I.  Maybe someday, but in the mean time we have some planning to do and I thought we could do it during the april pack meeting. Please try and send at least 1 parent to the parent meeting during the pack meeting. Thanks!

Please let me know by March 31 if you will participate in Camp Conservation day at Cub World. Last year we got to plants tree. Who knows what we’ll get to do this year!

Also, WOW (Webelos Outdoor Weekend) is May 16-18. This camp out is for current 3rd & 4th grade dens only. The event will be full of fun and adventure for the novice and experienced camper alike. While the focus is on outdoor fun, the activities will allow Webelos Scouts to have a taste of Boy Scouting while competing in some classic outdoor challenges.  The cost is $12 for scouts & adults are free. Cubmaster Mike will be going but we will need a few parents to accompany him. Please let us know by April 14th if you plan to attend. We will also need parts A & B of the BSA Health Record (attached) for any scout attending. http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_AB.pdf

By the way, if your scout is planning on attending any resident camp this summer you will need to fill our parts A,B & C. Part C involves having a physical. Here is the link for the BSA health record including part c. http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf

Let me know if you are attending any council summer camp programs this year. I need to record it for our Summertime pack awards!

Reminder: if your scout attended any council summer camp last summer he is eligible to earn the Outdoor Activity Award. Please click the link and see if he has completed the requirements and let your den leader know today! You still have time to earn it if he hasn’t completed it!!! Keep working on it! http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/CubScouts/Leaders/Awards/CSOutdoorActivityAward.aspx

2014 bg invite cake bake 2014Hello Everyone

Just wanted to send out the invitation I forgot to bring to the Feb. pack meeting and remind you that we will not be having a March Pack meeting since it is so near to the Blue & Gold. Don’t forget to turn in your scouts advancement to your den leaders! The Blue and Gold is fast approaching and if they haven’t earned rank yet they won’t get to participate in the ceremonies that night. You do have until the end of the year to earn rank we just like to award them at the Blue & Gold with fantastic fun! Don’t worry if you don’t make it in time for Blue & Gold we will still give you a nice ceremony but Cubmaster Mike only dresses up one night a year! ;) If you are unsure where your scout is in his progress towards rank make sure you contact your den leader to find out. You still have a few weeks to finish up. We have a lot of resources so if you are at a loss for what to do don’t hesitate to ask us for help!

Shrine Circus Feb28 – Mar2: Someone from the Emmanuel has generously offered to buy ticket for any scout that would like to go to the circus. If you are interested in taking your scout please let me know ASAP. Hopefully we can get together and go at the same time!
